New Website! Over the past week I’ve been working on a website about myself. It includes many things including the infamous picture galleries. I haven’t really told anyone about the site, yet I thought it’d be a sweet surprise for all of you to see. Anyways the site is about 95% done, just a few small adds I want to do, and I can’t wait any longer to make it public, so here is the public debut of my site:

IT’s sweet..how long did it take you to make it again?
spent 4 days working on it prolly like 30 hours, i’m happy with the way it came out.
Yeah, the music sounds like it came from that game Halo.
no shit! haha, my roommate said the same damn thing! haha, over the past week i’ve been workin on the site and with the constant play of the music i made and with the digital voices i synthesized he had commented a few times that it has a “Halo atmosphere” to it. (cuz we’re all avid Halo players up here at school), nuts!
I own in that game, I had one kid break my controller (of course I didn’t beat him, because he was inclined to buy me a new one) because I kept beating him.
He’s like “CAN YOU ATLEAST LET ME GO GET A GUN!” I go “Okay, fine”
So then I run him over with the jeep after he gets his gun. Everyone was laughing, and that’s what caused him to flip out. AHHAHA!
It’s hilarious when you sneak up behind them, and bash them with the gun. Or, you throw a nade on their back and run away.

May I give some pointers?
Is there any “bmp” pictures on the site? I have no clue why it’s taking two minutes to load, while I’m on cable.
Perhaps you have some “bmp” pictures on there? BMP can be up to 5 mb if not, more in file size.
Just a screenshot alone in BMP format could be 6 mb and more.

at home i have cable, it wasn’t 2 mins tho..
It has the loading bar, and it counts by the seconds, then gets stuck, then goes again.
Okay, it’s a little quicker now, but still could be quicker..hmm..
no i never use bitmaps on website, heh i know better! actually i never use bitmaps, ever! with the marvelous structure and data algorithms of jpeg’s and gif’s, i see no use for a bitmap anymore, there old stuff, hehe. and well in flash it’s all vector graphics so it doesn’t follow the algorithms of a bitmap the file size is slightly over a 1 meg, about 1100kb, which considering the amount of content, i think thats pretty good. one of my biggest concerns when making this site was file size and file data management. if u didn’t notice there is a lot of multiple layer animation which increases the file size. also with all of the audio effects I added that added another 300K to it. so overall, in my view, considering the contents and the complexity of it, I did a pretty decent job with file size and file management. granted, i’m no pro, but i’m learning. also the loading may have been due to the server I have it on (my university’s), if the traffic is heavy or maybe your internet connection was running slow at that time. thanks for pointing that out to me, cuz yur right, prolly one of the biggest concerns in flash and website development is loading speed. if ya got any more questions, send ’em over, later man.

It’s probably the server anyways. I’ve seen sites that had mp3’s playing while you browse.
So it MUST be the server.
If it isn’t, try toning down on the sound clip, maybe make it into 8 bit?
heh, i did record minimize all audio to 8-bit along at a frequency of 11khz. so its fairly small. there’s 11 audio files within the site so if ya look at that, thats like only 30k per file at(300k in audio) so there really isn’t much more i could do, ya know?
